Superintendent – Healthcare Construction
Description
The Superintendent manages the construction of healthcare or senior living projects, valued at between $500K and $5M each. This role coordinates, supervises, and plans the work of assistant superintendents and subcontractors, as well as coordinates plans with field engineers, resolving discrepancies. Additionally, the Superintendent serves as a liaison with other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule.
Safety: Responsible for ensuring that a safe workplace remains the top priority by developing/ supporting policies, procedures and practices for establishing a safe workplace. This individual is responsible for coordinating and activating the Emergency Response Team and is the leader in the field during emergency situations.
Project Management: Actively involved in job start / job close meetings; coordinating field assignments; setting goals for the project team; monitoring and assisting with field productivity, cost control and scheduling to ensure accurate construction schedules and plans for manpower and subcontractors.
Leadership & Business Development: Provides leadership through building relationships, motivating others and providing clear direction. Interacts with clients in a professional manner and identifies and pursues potential work.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or related field, or related field
Certifications and/or Licenses:
OSHA 30-Hour training
ICRA certification
First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Relevant Experience & Training:
5-8 years' construction experience on healthcare or senior living projects
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a cross-functional team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working Conditions:
100% travel required within the United States; this role is job site based.
