Overview
What We're Looking For
As a Data Center Network Engineer at CyberPoint, you will be a key member of a three-person Agile development team tasked with updating the M.E.T.R.I.C.S system - a legacy application originally written in Perl - by rebuilding the backend in Java and enhancing the frontend for improved usability and performance. You will join a high-impact, mission-driven software team working to modernize a critical web-based system supporting Mission Assurance operations.
Key Responsibilities:Lead the modernization of the existing M.E.T.R.I.C.S system backend, transitioning form Perl to JavaEnhance the user interface and overall usability of the system using modern frontend technologiesDevelop and refine GUI components to meet evolving mission requirementsCollaborate in Agile sprints with your team and stakeholders to deliver iterative valueEnsure high-quality, maintainable and secure code throughout the development lifecycle
This position is 100% onsite in Whitelaw, GA and requires an active TS/SCI+FSP Security Clearance.

What You'll Need
U.S. CitizenshipActive TS/SCI+FSP ClearanceBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline and 10+ years of IT-related experience. (Five additional years of IT-related experience may be substituted for a degree).Proficiency in Perl, Python or C++ (strong candidates with Python or C++ experience may substitute for Perl experience)Strong understanding of JavaScript and frontend developmentExperience with Java backend development and full-stack modernization projectsDemonstrated ability to design and build effective graphical user interfaces (GUIs)Solid understanding of both frontend and backend development principlesAbility to work collaboratively in an Agile environment with a small, focused teamWhat will set you apartExperience modernizing legacy systemsFamiliarity with Agile tools and practices (eg Jira, Git, CI/CD)Previous work in a mission assurance or government-related systemsOur Culture
