This Opportunity:
Observing construction on a variety of Transportation, Civil and/or Municipal infrastructure projects to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications.Documenting the day-to-day field and inspection activities, material sampling and testing, and measuring of quantities.Prepare for and assist with preconstruction meetings, progress, and conflict resolution meetings, negotiate and prepare construction change orders.Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, and other SEH personnel.Candidates with skills in AutoCAD or Microstation may participate in CAD production activities while in the officeMay assist in development of proposals, estimating project budgets and schedules and completing constructability reviews
Essential Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GEDStrong experience in the construction field serving as a Construction Project Representative or related role.Must have good communication skills and be able to work independently.Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and be able to walk and climb over rough terrain associated with construction sites.Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site observations, etc. Occasional overnight travel may be required.Ability to work overtime as needed.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Five (5) or more years of experience as a Construction Project Representative on DOT, County and/or Municipal construction projects involving earthwork, concrete and bituminous paving, site improvements, and street/utility construction.Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or related field.Possession of applicable DOT Technical Certifications or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employmentPrevious experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation
This position requires an MVR records check verifying that you possess a valid driver's license and a driving record which meets the requirements of SEH's Driving Program.
