WHEDA is seeking a Loan Operations and Capital Markets Specialist to join our Single Family department in our Madison facility.

SALARY: Hiring Range for this position is from $53,470-$65,399 Annually. Offered Salary will be based on qualifications and internal pay equity. WHEDA provides a competitive salary and WHEDA employees participate in the State of Wisconsin benefit package which includes retirement, health insurance and deferred compensation programs.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Loan Operations and Capital Markets Specialist is responsible for reviewing and processing loan applications and loan documentation within compliance with WHEDA, investor and regulatory requirements. This position may also process interest rate lock requests and funding requests from lending partners. This position should be a subject matter expert (SME) in two or more of the following specialties: Package Entry, Lockdesk and funding and/or post-Closing processes. This position will have a leadership and mentoring role within the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Monitors the activities of a team of Program Specialists within the Loan Operations and Capital Markets department. This includes planning daily task assignments for team members, coordinating daily package entry files, monitoring all shared email boxes- post closing, underwriting and lock desk, and evaluating programs, portfolios, contracts, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards and/or service offerings.Provides guidance, training, and support to other team members as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for more than one of the 3 specialties. Represents the teams as a SME in projects that support WHEDA's mission as it relates to product development, pilots, procedural changes and/or process improvements.Analyzes and modifies or recommends modifications of existing policies and procedures to ensure adherence to requirements of Single-Family programs administered or monitored by WHEDA.Evaluates Single Family Loan Operations and Capital Markets processes for accuracy, consistency and maximum efficiency, modifying/documenting to align with new/upgraded software applications.Participates in analysis of selecting/implementing new and existing software and formulating/modifying new and existing policies, programs, and procedures.Assists in coordinating and carrying out the day-to-day operations of the Loan Operations and Capital Markets department.Provides customer support for lending partners as a primary contact and SME.Performs or assists with other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND 3+ years of relevant experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience2 years of continued demonstration of advancing technical skillsEquivalent combination of education and experienceValid Driver's License - Required
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Proven success in use of elicitation, validation, and analysis principles of policy/procedure requirements.Development and execution of procedural documents.Excellent customer service principles.Proficiency with computer software, Microsoft Office, and the internet.Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mae, FHA and Ginnie Mae procedures and requirements.Data collection and research methods.Proficiency in transcription of technical and training documentation including diagramming.Attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot for process improvement.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all staff levels and the public appropriately.Problem solving skills, and critical/strategical thinking.Ability to work independently and efficiently.Maintains confidentiality related to internal/ external customers and any other information obtained in
this role.

Remote Work Options:

This position has a work schedule that will initially be 100% in-office. After training is complete, it is at the discretion of the direct manager when the employee may begin a hybrid work schedule.

This position is eligible for hybrid work that includes 40% in-office work.
